Definition: bant

Abbreviation of the word 'banter'. Noun: general abuse in a witty and joking manner. Verb: to abuse in a witty and joking manner.

The word bant was coined by LSUBANT, a group who met in Loughborough Students Hiking Club. Good bant should never be confused with bullying, and relies upon impromptu humour, quick wit and audacious behaviour. Poor bant arises from a distinct lack of bant, try-hards, and hospitalisation.

Usage: 'We banted them up a treat!'; 'Matt is banting up the locals'; 'Trevor has no bant'.

Examples of bant: Nudity at inappropriate times; Photo's of drunken people who have been 'decorated'; 'Careful, he has a double rape conviction,'(spoken to the fitty your mate is chatting up); Putting dead animals on someone's head while they are asleep; Anything by Borat.
