The 'Dark Peak' area of Derbyshire is a hiking club favourite.

Weekend trips allow us to go much further afield - in the past we've been to Lake District, Yorkshire and Glencoe.

Freshers trip
For our first trip of the year we will be travelling in style on a coach. We will be heading for the Derwent valley in the Peak District.
The first trip of the year is always a memorable one with some of the country's best walking just over an hour away from Loughborough.
We will be running a variety of walks to suit all abilities so if your a beginner this trip is a great introdution to hill walking.

For our first weekend trip of the semester we are heading to a hut at Dunmail Raise in the Lake District. It should prove to be a weekend full of walking and a good chance for all the new members to get to know people.

A popular annual destination for the club, the Roaches are a series of escarpments in the SW corner of the Peak District which offer a wide range of walks to suit all abilities. The Roaches is reputedly home to a family of Wallabies which have been recently sighted at this Staffordshire Moorlands beauty spot.

The aim of Orienteering is to navigate in sequence between control points marked on a unique orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. There is a lot more information about it at the weblink on the details page for this trip.
This event has a full range of courses for beginners to experts. The club has a few experienced members who will be only to pleased to help people who haven't done it before. Good opportunity to learn something new or test your navigation skills if you already have them.

A weekend away in a bunkhouse at Yr Hafod in Snowdonia, Wales. There should be plenty of good walking including the opportunity to walk up the highest mountain in England and Wales.

A scenic walk out to the countryside surrounding Loughborough, which is actually pretty nice if im honest. Its a good opportunity to explore beyond the University and town centre boundaries for all you freshers!

For or final trip of the term we are headed to the rolling hills of the White Peak area of the Peak District. Dovedale is one of the natural wonders of Britain, with serious banter potential on the stepping stones!
